4G

One of the ways GSG supports the Graduate Student Community at UMCP is through connecting students to the many resources built to support their endeavors while obtaining their degree.
The 4G Network is a Great Starting Place for Learning About Opportunities and Support Services
To begin, GSG is part of a 4G Network of units specifically set up for graduate student support.
The 4G Network includes GSG, The Graduate School, Graduate Student Life, and Graduate Student Legal Aid. Click on the links below to learn more about each:
Did you know graduate students have a lounge inside the Stamp Student Union? Come check it out and you will see the GSG office located inside the lounge right beside Graduate Student Life! Graduate Student Life is a place to meet and mingle with graduate students across campus and to participate in programs like the monthly social series, craft nights, trivia night and large annual events like the large "Graduate Student Kickoff" welcome party in September.
The Graduate Student Legal Aid Office provides a wide range of free and confidential legal services to the University of Maryland College Park graduate students who are enrolled and have paid the student fee. This service is funded by graduate student fees allocated by the Graduate Student Government. Our mission is to meet the critical legal needs of our diverse graduate student population in a culturally competent, compassionate and supportive setting.

The Graduate School is a great resource for policies related to graduate academics, funding and assistantships as well as many services related to professional development. The GS serves as home base for the entire graduate community, offering guidance and support from application to graduation and every milestone in between. Our offices, each dedicated to a particular area and staffed with area experts, work together to ensure seamless support to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and programs.
